  • The programme focuses on the study of the mind and behaviour.Students can specialise in a particular field of their choice, such as developmental psychology, social psychology, organizational psychology or clinical psychology. Students will be exposed to the theories and concepts in psychology and will engage in research related activities. The programme aims to produce graduates who are able to utilize their knowledge of psychology and skills, not only in academic or work setting, but also to apply it in everyday life as an effort to promote psychological well being.

  • SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

    Applicants for the Master’s Programme under the UUM College of Arts and Sciences must possess:

    a) a Bachelor’s degree with Honours from University Utara Malaysia or any other institution of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA at least 2.75; or

    b) a Bachelor’s degree with Honours from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institution of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA less than 2.75 and relevant working experience; or

    d) any other equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate; and

    e) fulfills the English Language requirement.
  • PROGRAMME STRUCTURE-(A) Full Research



    This programme is offered by full research. Students are required to:

    1.

    Attend and pass the following courses (if necessary) with at least B grade:
    • SZRZ6014    Research Methodology;
    •  SCLE 6014   Academic Writing; and/or
    •  Any other course as determined by the supervisor or Academic Committee

    2.

    Present and defend the proposed research to a committee;

    3.

    Present progress reports of research work at colloquiums arranged by the Graduate School or College;

    4.

    Attend a viva session to defend the thesis; and

    5.

    Submit a final thesis
