UUM ONLINE: A total of 429 people received the offer letters from Awang Had Salleh Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (AHSGS) to further their studies at Master's and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) levels for the first Trimester admission Session 2021/2021 (211).
The Dean of AHSGS, Prof. Madya Dr. Hisham Dzakiria said, among these, 232 offer letters involved prospective international students, while 197 were locals, each of whom will attend various programmes at seven (7) schools in UUM CAS.
According to Prof. Madya Dr. Hisham Dzakiria, in the September session, the demand to further studies at PhD level was very high at 252 compared to the Masters at 115 and Post Graduate Diploma in Education programme (PGDE) at 62.
He welcomed the presence of new students and expressed appreciation for choosing UUM as a destination to further their studies.
“The selection of UUM as the first choice to study is exceptionally an accurate decision as the university has a strong support system in terms of staff and learning facilities to students.
“UUM also recorded a pleasant success in the education sector when it was ranked 200th in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2021.
“It is hoped that all prospective UUM students will work hard, focus and diligently complete their studies within the stipulated timeframe,” he said at the ‘Welcoming Speech’ by Dean of AHSGS session in conjunction with the Online Briefing on New Student Registration First Trimester Session 2021/2022 recently.
The briefing was attended by 208 prospective students, Dean and the Programme Course Coordinators of respective schools.
The prospective students also attended the Academic Briefing by the Deputy Dean of AHSGS, Dr. Siti Nazuar Sailin and Learning Support Briefing by the Director, Executive Education and Professional Development (EEPD), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mavender Kaur A/P Sarjit Singh, as well as the library services briefing and the collaborative school sessions.
