POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH ETHICS APPLICATION

Overview

The Postgraduate Research Ethics Review ensures that research involving human participants is conducted ethically, responsibly, and in compliance with the University's ethical standards. Students are required to obtain ethical approval before commencing data collection.

Who Should Apply?

Postgraduate students whose research involves human participants, including:

  • Surveys
  • Interviews
  • Observations
  • Focus Group Discussions
  • Audio/Video Recording
  • Sensitive or personal data
  • Vulnerable populations

Application Process

  1. Complete the application form and supporting documents.
  2. Submit the application to your respective School.
  3. The School Research Committee (SRC) reviews the application.
  4. Successful applications are forwarded to AHSGS for endorsement.
  5. Approved applicants will receive a Letter of Ethical Approval.

  • Postgraduate Research Ethics Application Form
  • Research Proposal
  • Information & Consent Form
  • Supporting documents (if applicable)

Important Notes

  1. Only complete applications will be processed.
  2. Submit your application at least three (3) months before data collection.
  3. Applications must reach the respective School by the 5th of each month.
  4. The review process generally takes 30–90 days.
